Background

ThediagnosisofBeh?et’sdisease(BD)remainschallengingduetothelackofdiagnosticbiomarkers.ThisstudyaimstoidentifypotentialserummetabolitesassociatedwithBDanditsdiseaseactivity.

Methods

Medicalrecordsandserumsamplesof24pretreatedBDpatients,12post-treatedBDpatients,andage-matchedhealthycontrols(HC)werecollectedformetabolomicsandlipidomicsprofilingusingUPLC-QTOF-MSandUPLC-QTOF-MSEapproaches.Additionally,serumsamplesfromanindependentcohortofBDpatients,diseasecontrolsincludingrheumatoidarthritis(RA),systemiclupuserythematosus(SLE),Takayasu’sarteritis(TA),Crohn’sdisease(CD)patients,andHCwerecollectedforfurthervalidationoftwopotentialbiomarkersusingUPLC-QTOFMSanalysis.
